Over the next months we will be reporting on arrests in Broward County, Fort Lauderdale with some criminal defense lawyer commentary. We were not retained by any of these people but, in reviewing these we feel we can shed some light on the Fort Lauderdale arrest process.

The winner of Bellator's Season Six Featherweight tournament, was arrested on March 1, and is being held on $2,200 bail. He was arrested in Fort Lauderdale and charged with driving with a suspended license, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia or use and possession of MDMA (ecstasy).
Many athletes have been arrested not only for drugs but, for the illegal use of steroids. Athletes are not above the law and an arrest, although it is publicity, can be extremely harmful to reputation and career.
